Save A Life

I received my UK organ donor card..

I signed up for it when we first moved in here and absolutely forgot about it until I received it in the mail today. I already have one from Kuwait but figured if things go bad allah laygol while I'm here at least I'd be listed as a donor and may be lucky to help someone..

I posted about Kuwait Transplant Society last year, you can find the post right here and all the information you might need is available on their website. If you did not apply yet please give it a thought. You might be able to help save a life when you're dead ba3ad 3umr 6weel inshala..

I remember when we first moved here, the arab revolutions were going on and everyone we met was intrigued when they knew we're arabs in general and Kuwaitis in particular. For the majority, Kuwait was just a name of a country. They had no true idea about it other than the two typical stereotypes: 1) Desert, camels, tents.. 2) Rich, Oil, Luxury .. However, some people didn't even know it existed! I remember one Chinese guy who thought I made up the country.. I had to actually show him Kuwait on the map so he'd believe it really exists. As for those who are more aware of Kuwait and the arab world, the frequent question we got was "How's the revolutions affecting you? Do you have anything going on in Kuwait?!" Our answer was No! We are not affected by the revolutions,. Unlike those countries, we Kuwaitis actually love our rulers! We have democracy, freedom of religion, freedom of speech and we're quite peaceful people. We listed all the great things our government gives the citizens.. They we're WOWed and impressed! "You have a wonderful country!" They said..

Indeed we do!.. We have a wonderful country and wonderful ruling family.. Our problems are not caused by the ruling family.. our problems are caused by the people! We do complain that laws are not implemented all the time, that there are improvements that should be made.. there is this and that and blah blah blaah! We sit in our lazy asses, taking money from the government and point our fingers?! Really?! The fingers should be pointed at ourselves! We are the cause of all crap that goes on.. No one to blame but us.. the people of this wonderful country!

The majority became greedy! Trying to steal as much as they can! Personal interests are above the public interests.. Lying, cheating, slacking became all acceptable?!

What happened to ambitions? What happened to the manners? Look at our kids, our lovely youth.. Disrespectful, irresponsible, and have no ambitions whatsoever! I blame the parents for that by the way.. Leaving your kids with no supervision, not teaching them right from wrong.. Oh and letting them stay out late, giving them all they want with no limit and letting them do what they want when they want.. Then go out on demonstrations and cry your eyes out when the little brats fail the exams? What are you teaching them? It's okay to slack off! Do what you want and if things don't work out we'll go on the streets and demonstrate.. We'll call parliament members and gather together to call other people names! Very well... Wani3m il tarbeya.. Your little brats deserve to fail!

As for the grown ups... I don't really understand what happened! Some people just lost it! Like half the population just went insane! The riots, invading the parliament (especially the guy who's sitting on the chair with dallat il gahwa.. seriously dude WTF!), the recent events with the name calling on tv, burning campaign headquarters, fighting, destroying private property.. Kuwait turned into WWE?

In The Dark

I have never done a restaurant review before for many reasons but mostly because I'm not much of a food fan. However, I had to write this review coz it's not really about the food, its all about the experience.

I don't know if you have seen the movie When In Rome..

Remember the scene when they went to that restaurant?.. Yeah? No? Let me refresh your memory.. Watch the scene bellow..

I remember when I saw it I said to myself "LOL! Does that place actually exist? If so I must try it!"

And guess what? It does exist! I did some googling and found it..

Danes Le Noir, which literally translates to "in the dark" they have branches in New York, St. Petersburg, Barcelona, Paris and to my luck... London! :)

I immediately went to their website and booked a table for Ambrosial and myself.

We arrived to the restaurant at 6:30 where we were greeted by a very friendly staff. They explained the process...

First thing we had to do is remove everything that has light or glows (watches, phones, lighters, etc..) and all our belongings had to placed in the lockers.

Then we had to choose our meals: Choose whether you want a 2 course meal or 3 course. Choose your drinks and pick the color of your meal. There are 4 colors: White which is the Chef's surprise.. Blue: seafood.. Green: Vegetarian.. or Red: meat.... aaaand wait to be surprised!

Ambrosial picked white and I went for red.. We tried to ask them what's in it but they refused to tell. They said we will find out when we finish..

Then we were seated in the lounge for a few minutes until our table was ready..

Once it was ready we were called to meet our waitress which by the way was blind.. All the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant are actually blind!

Our lovely waitress carefully led inside the dark room and to our table.. The place was absolutely and completely dark!

My brain went into over drive! The little people in my head started panicking! I started touching everything trying to make sense of my surroundings. Managed to find my cutlery, my drink and Ambrosial's forehead which I had to smack a couple of times. When I finally was able to locate everything I needed I started to relax and then to my surprise the little people in my head went absolutely quite! All of the sudden the noise in my head turned to silence and I felt so focused! Like all my senses became sharper. We found peace in the darkness.

A while later our food started coming.. Our waitress had to call our names in order to locate us... With the arrival of the first dish my horror began. As some of you may know, I'm a very picky eater so not knowing what I'm eating was such terrifying thing for me! Besides that, finding the food on my plate was a challenge! I cut the food and when I bring the fork to my mouth I find it empty! To be honest, I had to actually touch my food in order to find ;p I was such a mess! Half of the food ended up all over my face and the other half was in my hair! (DONT ASK!)

Anyway, when we finished eating our waitress led us out into the light where we were greeted again by the friendly staff in the waiting area and we were shown pictures of what we ate which was quite surprising! Ambrosial got so excited about the things she had! I believe she did not sleep that night from the excitement! Unfortunately, I cannot say what was on the menus.. it's supposed to be a surprise ;p

I gotta admit thou, the food was not that great.. it was below average.. but the experience was amazing! I am very grateful for having my sight, this experience sure made me appreciate this blessing even more and it also made me admire those who cannot see. Getting around and living each day like that is not easy at all!

This is a once in a life time experience that I encourage you to try..

Les Miserables

The next time you are in London make sure you watch Les Miserables!

The classic novel written by Victor Hugo. One of my all time favorites! I remember the first time I read the story back when I was 8 and I instantly fell in love with it. I guess I've always had a thing for revolutions whether its for personal beliefs, love, justice or a better a life. The idea of people rising for what they believe in has quite an effect on me ;p

The play is held in Queen Theater and once the curtains open you will immediately be transferred to the 1800's. It was astonishing!

I will not talk more about it, you must see it yourself!

But I will say this... As the play was going, I couldn't help but think of our plays back home. 6ariq Al-Ali popped in my mind and I just felt MISERABLE! I realized how insignificant and shallow our plays are. Just a bunch of people on stage making fun of one another with no point. A true shame..

I remember when we all sat down for an early Christmas/farewell dinner before everyone left University for the holidays. Shared a meal with friends from different countries and background. There were the muslims, jews, christians and athiests. Everyone saying grace before the meal in their own language. We talked, we laughed, we exchanged recipes and joked around about everything. There were no differences.. We were all the same. Humans...

And I remember when Ambrosial and I were stuck in group meetings on Sunday, evening of Eid. While each one of us busy with her group.. Our friends were busy preparing us Eid dinner.. Non of them were Arabs.. Non were muslims... They were just people doing a nice thing for their friends.. Just Humans...

We have our differences.. We have our own opinions.. We have our own beliefs.. But that doesn't mean we don't respect others..

I really can't understand the culture of hate that some people implant in their children. Why some people would love to wipe out certain people out of the face of earth just because they hold opposing ideas. Why is it too difficult for some to put the differences aside and take a closer look. There is much more underneath the exterior. Get to know the people before you decide to hate them.

Respect everyone, tolerate all and judge none.

It is God's job to judge not ours..

Back To Uni

Tomorrow I go back to Uni!! First day of the second term! :D

Lol the only reason I'm excited about is coz I've been stuck at home for the past 3 days working on my report non stop.. well only for food, bathroom breaks and annoy Ambrosial breaks.. The weather been beautiful really cold but sunny and nice but sadly we couldn't go out until the mission is accomplished. Our situation was sad, we closed all the curtains and blinds to avoid seeing the beauty outside.. if we don't see it we wont regret missing it ;p

Alas! The report is done! Well.. almost done, I just need to edit a few things here and there then I will be ready to submit it tomorrow inshala, a day before the deadline.. Proud of myself *pats myself on the back*

Now the good thing about this term is it wont be a devastating and intense as the first one (well at least I hope not). I have one day off and a couple of classes less.. The bad thing is I'll be back to running after the bus!

A Bowl Of Randomness

It's been a very long time since my last post.. I have so many things on my mind but for some reason when I want to say something my brain goes absolutely blank. It feels like there is a constant rave in my head, the little people are always high, then suddenly everyone blacks out and I'm left with the sound of sheer silence and temporarily amnesia ;p

Since I can't really write a proper post I'm just gonna pour all the bits and pieces I can remember right now in a bowl of randomness and hope you enjoy the dish..

I was planning on quitting the blogosphere.. I wrote and deleted more than 20 farewell posts.. Blogging used to be so easy.. and fun.. It's still fun.. but not easy anymore. I don't know if I lost the passion or its because of the previously mentioned state of madness that is going on in the brain of yours truly? Either way I've done plenty of contemplation and was leaning towards quitting but I changed my mind when remembered all the good times I had writing posts in the past.. the great people I met through this blog.. and the possibility of meeting more wonderful people... So I guess I'll stick around a little longer.. Don't promise to post regularly but I promise to try..

Speaking of great people.. I started this year with a BBQ and a lovely time with my family.. I really missed them all over the past few months.. They still drive me insane but I love them despite it all.. I also met a couple of wonderful bloggers/tweeps/cyper-friends? lol pick the the term you prefer.. one of them is our one and only little miss sunshine Rawan <3 The girl has an amazing personality and what you read in her posts is what you actually see in person. There is no fakeness.. The girl is sweet, honest, funny and so adorable! I felt like I knew her since forever.. there was no awkwardness at all.. We just said hello and started catching up just like old friends.. I had a wonderful time and Rawoon you are amazing don't ever change... well.. except for the hello kitty thing... *evil glare* aside from that I love you mwaah ;**

I'm always hungry! Ambrosial.. "fi dooda ib ba6ni?" ;p

My cat is awesome! I really missed her.. Wish I can take her with me.. She's my comic relief..

Did I tell you people about the clothes I left in the washing machine? Min zoud isana3... I said I'm not leaving anything dirty.. So I woke up extra early on the day of our flight.. Had a shower.. Finished packing.. tossed my clothes in the washing machine.. and then I got busy with stupid stuff... More stupid stuff... Until our cab arrived... Got our luggage downstairs, I went back upstairs switched off the lights and the main electricity circuit, locked the doors and left.. One hour and a half later we arrive to the airport.. we check in.. sit for coffee.. then I remembered!! Malat 3alay! min zoud il 7er9 ya3ni! O i'm still me7tara! Every time I remember tenba6 chabdi.. my favorite PJ is in there and it's probably rotten by now! :(

What's up with the singers lately? No decent songs! Especially Rashed.. Shame on you dude! I want Rashed ayaam gabil... Even Bu Nora e5tarab... I blame the new generations with their lame taste in music!

I want to meet PINK! I wanna hug her and thank her for the inspiration and for sticking by my side through the years.. She has been a true friend... She was there when I was down and when I screwed up and everyone was in my face she was the only one who said "So What?!" .. She was there when I was up and partying.. "Raise Your Glass"... o etmur e5ti il ma6fooga et7osha ila il 3a9eer menkat 3ala rasi... She was there when I was confused and debating with my "Split Personlaity"... there when I had enough and kept telling me to "Runaway" lol hal song yabeli akteb post kamil 3anha ;p.. She was even there when Ambrosial got on the bus and "Made a wrong turn..once or twice" Looooool! I'll never let it go ;p

So yeah! She's a true friend.. been there with me through it all.. ta3limaw minha! <_<

The One With The Boyce Avenue Concert!

Yeah.. Keep staring at the title of this post! ;p

Here is how it all started. One typical summer afternoon in K-town, I was out to grab lunch... Got a msg from Vainglorious saying: "How much do you love me" (just like that out of the blue) I was driving back home, and I texted back "A7bik kthr ma ta6ri 3la bali wla algak, kthr khoufi 3laik o mnik o kthr ma ash'hag ibismk" ;p

Vainglorious: Good! Cause I got Boyce Avenue's tickets!

Me: NO WAY!!!

Vainglorious: WAY!

Me: Aaaahhhh!!! OMG!!! I'm gonna cause a pile up accident mn elwanasah!!!

Vainglorious: LOL Don't! Then we won't be able to go! ;p

I was all jumpy! I was like OMG! I'm gonna catch them live! I even had in mind what exactly to wear for the concert! Yes! (lohu 3rs chan ma hamnii!) ;p

I love acoustic music! A year a go I was on YouTube trying to find "Bleeding Love" and I stumbled upon Alejandro playing it. It dragged me to listen to more covers. And Oh My God do they turn mediocre songs into GREAT ones! It's incredible... Since then and I've listened to everything they had on. Downloaded their album, and boy my iPod never looked so good! ;p

After we've moved out, and got caught up with Uni work, overwhelmed and all... I was a gloomy person there! ;p Vainglorious kept telling me "remember.. We're gonna see Boyce Avenue ok?" and that line was the only thing that made me tolerate the hectic program... ;p I played their music everywhere! On the bus, while walking to class, waiting for the bus, and before bed...

I was psyched when the tickets were in the mail! I looked at them like I was gazing upon a newly born! Lool holding them carefully, after reading every detail on the tickets I placed them in the drawer where all receipts/subscriptions are in. Yes they're that important! ;p

After Josh Groban's concert I vowed not to listen to "Boyce Avenue" until the day of their concert!

I hated myself for taking such a vow! Lool Oh the torture! November was here... Hallelujah!!! I have to catch up with their new covers now! ;p

Woke up on the 3rd of November (M7md Ghazi's) Birthday ;p the day of the concert! I had "Find Me" for breakfast! LOL ;p

After our lectures (we decided to skip the last lecture, to catch the train ;p) running after trains is a whole different story! ;p

Headed to London... It was raining the whole time... Taxis were all occupied blmoooout we found one! And damn did I look good with my mustard leather jacket on! ;p (Yes that was the exact thing I was planning to wear the moment Vain told me about the concert! ;p)

The line was so long! I was impressed, Boyce Avenue has a HUGE fan base in LONDON BABY!

Finally we picked our seats... The atmosphere was AWESOME!

Tyler Ward made the first enterance, he was cool, and we loved his energy!

It was a dream come true... Boyce Avenue are a major part of my "aimlessly driving nights" all the errands I ran.. Whatever mood I had, they were there to deliver!

We hassled back to the station, got quickly on the train we almost missed it! Running after trains is something we're accustomed to now ;p... And I was stil thinking of the concert.. I had a great time!

Say Whatcha Need To Say...

I don't know why I'm getting all emotional just by seeing the "new post" tab! Its been quite a while... We've been juggling time since the last 3 months, my God its going crazy! You'll understand if I show you how many windows I have on right now ;p Do you guys know that I'm posting this in the pinnacle of our assignments deadline! ;p I just need a break from all the theory, analysis, and all the stupid people I have to deal with...

*sigh* This on-going experience of living abroad has been like a dream... I look back on our time here, and its like snap shots.

I love how easy it is to make friends here, and simply be yourself. Say whatever crosses your mind, and not have to review every single word in your head before saying it...

I'm here to bring with me a bag of experiences! Living with Vainglorious is a whole different experience ;p I'm having this 'love-hate-relationship' going on with Vain ;p

*HALT!* What's written above was a draft I wrote about 10 days ago. ;p I just wanna leave it to that and start talking about other things... Yeah I know so random of me, but just go with it OK! It's not like we get to post everyday ;p

Hope you guys are not confused by this, but what the hell right?! ;p Hmm... So I'm here in K-Town, and boy do I miss NO ONE! JK ;p I miss my family, and one special pregnant friend ;p now that I saw them, I'm done missing them! Yes I'm cold hearted now, that's what living abroad does to you! lol ;p It's too bad that I can't really enjoy my holiday, simply because I have projects to deliver by January. I really need a break, and stop thinking. Bs shnsawei b3d, gotta do what we gotta do...

Let me tell you about my reversal cultural shock ;p I've never stayed out of the country for more than a month and a half.. let alone living abroad for over 3 months, have changed me! Not extremely, but in a way that made me convinced that "Yep..Yep, society sucks!" ;p I felt more like myself out there... I came here, and it all came back to me, even though I prepared myself for it. Knowing how things are gonna flow, and I used to laugh about it with Vainglorious, going "oOoo 3ad al7een, we'll be facing this, that, and that!" ;p despite all the psychological preparation... It still gets to us! Now I understand why I snap a lot here (Yes, mystery solved) ;p

Anyroad, so now I'm like "wow.... WTF am I gonna do when I'm done with my program, and get back to my life?!" Even if in the future I have things going here for me... that's not enough.. I'm not crazy about my surroundings aka "society" Damn! Shldibraaah?!

I used to be a very content person with what I have.. If something doesn't happen for me, then so be it. But, now... I can't stand the idea for just settling for something that is "OK"

Let me tell you what's on my mind, yes 7adi raythah.. so you better sit put and listen! ;p

You see my only major problem with being abroad, is the program itself.. It's demanding, puts me in pressure, and I'm the kind of gal who can't work under pressure, I just hate it, and hate even more the way I handle it by eating my feelings! (Not cool at all! ;p) but, this does have a teeny tiny upside to it, which is helping me learn how to work under pressure, turn a weakness around.. (Inshallah Rbi ygaderni!) That's the only single thing that bothers me there... and of course an issue that's been going for years, unfortunately I can't talk to any living soul about! Sure it's eating me alive, wreaking my daily life, possess 99.7 % of my thinking, accumulates a high percentage of my grumpy/crankiness *deep breath* but, its up to me to solve it. Sometimes I think the only way to solve this problem, is by disappearing from everyone for a couple of months, in order to pursue just that single issue, get it sort out so everything else can just go well in my life. Moving on...

Since I moved out, I've noticed that I have become a very sensitive person. You guys! I'm telling you, tears have never been so darn close! lol ;p I don't know why....

It's official... "I'm home when I'm away, and away when I'm home" it breaks my heart saying it.. but I can't find myself here, nor that I found myself abroad... I'm working on that. It aches that I can't relate to things here... They talk and talk... and to me its irrelevant :( What a shame, cause I love my country despite all the crap it's going through... I wish I had the green light to settle permanently abroad, but I don't want to be the one breaking my parents heart. I'll just take things as they come, hope for the best, and pray for what's suitable.

My life has taken an intriguing turn, I'm trying to be honest to myself (One of Vainglorious' advices to me ;p)

First of all, I just wanna say how much I miss blogging. How much I miss taking a tour on my fellow bloggers blogs, and simply leave a comment.

I hope you guys understand how hard this is on us... This is with out a doubt the hardest thing I had to do. The program is so overwhelming, stressful, demanding, and so f****** condensed!

If I wanna post something, it has to be meaningful.. whether its personal, or just random. I can't seem to find the time to blog anymore.. it's frustrating, it feels like a part of me has ended.. And I don't want that! I was hoping that we can document our life here by blogging.. I'm still planning on doing that... A lot a LOT is happening, and all I want to do, is to share all of the ups and downs of those moments with you guys.

The Desert used to be our haven, the place where we poured our hearts out... its our baby! ;p The baby we neglected! lol ;p *SIGH* we're striving to keep it alive..

Eid Won't Be The Same

I never spent Eid outside the country, nor away from my family. I thought it would be fun to gather our Muslim friends here, and celebrate Eid. Just to have that feeling of "Eid" We even got special Kuwaiti desserts shipped from back home, to have that feeling around...

It hit me yesterday, that it's not gonna be the same... Staying up all night, waking up really early in the morning! I've always hated waking early, but it was so worth watching my brothers hustle to the mosque, 3la ma Abkhir ightar'hum, take pictures while they're still sleepy ;p

Special Eid Lunch at my aunt's house or the Chalet. And of course el3ediah in envelops is always awesome! ;p My Mom sent me my 3ediah in an envelop, and I was so psyched! Cause God knows how much I did not want it to be deposited in my account, it wouldn't feel like a 3eediah ;p

I'm not home sick... I just extremely miss my brother :( He's my rock, my hero, he's everything to me... I'm just gonna miss his casual call on a Eid night, asking me to have things out and ready for the morning.

The way he puts my 3ediah in an envelope and writes his full name on it, so official! ;p

Akthr wa7d yt7ala 3lai, and makes me feel so special! Most loving and supportive person... The only person who knows how to calm me down, when I get mad... and comforts me when I'm upset, and scolds me when I'm actually wrong ;p Got me out of trouble many times.. out of Chabd to be precise! ;p

Lately, I've been trying not to speak to him over the phone, cause I simply don't wanna cry in public ;p

I got a message from him last night out of nowhere saying:

"Ma ra7 a3ayid hal snah, l2nch mu bl Kuwait" ....... That just broke my heart :( Wla ana li galb a3ayid bdoun my family... I don't want him to feel blue, I wanna get him over here.

I'm not gonna leave you guys with a gloomy ending to this post. Before I left Kuwait, as I was hugging my brother to say goodbye.. He went: "Mu ashoufich intai o Vainglorious arrested bl CNN msaween the victory sign!" Lol Well, I'm not sure we can promise him that ;p

Anyroad, I really don't want to bring anyone down with me... It's been crazy with our studies, and I'm on an emotional roller-coaster.. *sigh*

The One With The Josh Groban Concert!

I remember the first time I stumbled on Josh Groban’s music was on The Oprah Winfrey Show. I heard him sing “You Raise Me Up” and I was hooked instantly! From there I started downloading his music, buying his albums… Fell in love with my favorites “Awake” and “Oceano”

One day I was in the car with Mom, I made her listen to “You Raise Me Up” and told her “I’m getting him for my wedding!” (I wasn’t kidding! ;p) She laughed sarcastically! ;p She likes Sinatra, I thought she might be keen on Josh Groban ;p

His music eased me through a rough phase in college.. From then I had him on my list! I wanna see him perform!

Before moving out of K-Town in a month or so… Vainglorious told me to book the tickets for his concert in London.

Me: Do we dare?! ;p
Vainglorious: Like hell we do!
Me: OK! ;p

I remember booking those tickets in the living room, and Dad sitting across the side of me, and I was going (Wallah uba lw tadri, what I’m up to right now! Lol ;p)

I haven’t told anyone! It was just between Vainglorious and I! ;p

October was here, the concert was on the 11^th it was on a Tuesday, the shittiest day on our schedule! It’s unbelievably hectic on Tuesday… simply “We Hate Tuesdays!”

We attended all our classes, finished at 6:00PM.. Got on the bus, and walked to the train station.. lost our way, which made us run! We got there and the train was about to leave in 2 minutes.. We got held back because of a lady who kept wondering why are the train tickets expensive! Way3ah, move out of the window bitch! And there we missed the “Fast train” to London! We hopped on the next one..

The concert starts at 8:00PM, and we reached London 7:55PM lol..Got into a taxi..

Me: How fast can you get us to Apollo Theatre?
Him: depends on the traffic, 25-30 mins..
Me: looks at Vain Nroo7?
Vainglorious: Yes.
Me: Let’s go

The cab driver, was so awesome! He’s like the sweetest cab driver in London.. he got us there in 15-20 mins!

We ran inside! *GASP* Josh Groban! Performing OCEANO!!! ABCHII?! LOOL We were looking for our seats… settled after I almost climbed on someone just to sit! ;p

Vainglorious gave her “WTH” look when she heard him go “Piove sulla oceano” its Italian for “It rains in the ocean” YES! I know the lyrics Lol ;p

I sat there mesmerized by him! I couldn’t believe it.. I day dreamed about this moment (maybe the moment of hugging him, but still.. ;p) and I’m there.. Watching him perform live… And then it hit me! OH MY GOD WE’RE BREATHING THE SAME AIR! LOL ;P

He was AMAZING! We missed about 20 mins of the concert, and I was hoping in those 20 minutes he didn’t perform “AWAKE” and “Don’t Give Up” …

Vainglorious isn’t a fan of his music, but she ended up liking him, cause he’s a comedian! He’s hilarious! After every song, he’d put a stand up comedy for you! No one does that! Nonetheless, no classical performer does that! ;p He's the kind of person I wanna be friends with

I’ll leave you with his charming charisma…

The concert was wrapped up, and we had to hurry back to the station to catch the train back… Josh came out to perform one more time on the piano “Hidden Away” akhaaih! We left the hall, and I was turning my back to get a last “LIVE” look lol ;p

I woke up the next day, and I said to Vainglorious “Ask me where I was last night!”

Vainglorious: Where were you last night ? ;p
Me: I WAS AT JOSH GROBAN’S CONCERT!!! AND WE SHARED THE SAME AIR! LOL

I kept saying, “Do you know where I was 2 days ago? Do you know where I was last Tuesday?!” ;P it went on for a couple of weeks, and still it did not sink in ;p SIGH It was surreal…. Good thing he didn't perform "To Where You Are" cause I swear, I would've cried! ;p

With all the craziness, and how extremely busy we are here... I can't believe we actually attended the concert! I can happily cross it out of my list :)

P.S I dedicate this song to Noon and Swera. I really wished I could've shared this concert with them, knowing how crazy they are about Josh Groban! ;p You girls were on my mind at that moment ;*

and one more thing..... Vainglorious! I'll never forget that moment when you said:

"Like Hell We DO!" and we did! ;p Thank you ;*

The One With The Indian Take Out

It's been a month since we moved out from Kuwait... We made it by ourselves for a whole month! I'm so proud! ;p Anyroad, take outs have become a major part of our lives! LOL not that we can't cook, it's just that we have a crazy, long schedule, and by the time we're home we are simply exhausted to do anything. Luckily for us, our mail is always filled with take out menus.. I'd give them a glance before opening any bank documents that was mailed lol ;p Apparently, Indian cuisines run supreme in our town ;p so we tried about 3 different Indian take outs ;p feels like we are in a mission to find the best one ;p it's fascinating! And so worth it if you're constipated! Lool ;p moving on... The other day, we thought of giving a new place a try.. Like we always do when we first moved in ;p

Me: Hello

*Indian with a fake British accent goes* Hello..

Me: I'd like to order please

Him: To pick up or delivery?

Me: Delivery please

Him: Your address?

Me: Blah blah *spelling it out for him*

Him: What do you like?

Me: *getting excited* lol 1 Prawn Curry mild.. 1 Nan.. 1 Butter Chicken, 1 Garlic and Cheese Nan.. And 2 Poppadoms.. Oh! What kind of sundried relishes you have?

Him: blah blah blah

Me: Ok all 3 ;p

Him: Your bill is £20, you can have a complimentary wine with that amount

Me: I don't want wine, what's the other option?

Him: Why?! We have white wine and red wine..

Me: I don't drink... Compliment me with something else lool ;p

Him: Are you Muslim?

Me: Yes

Him: What about your friend?

*Vain hollers across the living room* "Tell him I'm a recovering alcoholic!" LOOL

Me: *can't stop laughing* My friend is a recovering alcoholic, I don't want to drink in front of her, that'll just make her fall off the wagon LOL ;p

Me: How about I tell you that, when we dine at your restaurant? Who should I ask for? ;p Him: My name is "Allum"

Him: I'll be delivering your food tonight you can tell me then, cause I'll be leaving soon

Me: So now what? you're planning on stalking us??!! ;p

*Vain laughing hysterically*

Him: No no ;p

Me: So I don't want wine now, what's my options?

Him: You can have a voucher

Me: No no, *scans the menu* how about you throw in some Chicken Cocktails? ;p

Him: Mmm I'll put some Poppadoms for you

Me: We already ordered that! Itgi9 3la mnu?!! Lool ;p

Him: Ok Ok

Me: When should I be expecting it?

Him: 40-45 mins.

Me: Alright, cool.. Will see you then ;p bye

Him: Ok, Bye

*both hang up*

LOOL! OK... That was the funniest conversation I had with a stranger on the phone!

Allora, that dude calls trying to find our place.. I stepped out and waved, since he was going the other way around ;p

Instead of the wine I got a large bottle of COKE! lol ;p (Vainglorious got all excited ;p)

He went.. Your not gonna tell me where you're from?

Me: Well, you're gonna have to guess ;p

Him: mm *stares at my face* India?

Me: What?! come on.. ;p

Him: mm.. Dubai?

Me: Your getting closer *he better gets it right, before my food gets cold!* ;p

They say you never really know a person until you live with them. Now I've been living with Ambrosial for a little over 3 weeks and guess what?

She's SLOW!!

She's motion slow not mentally slow, although I'm beginning to question that ;p

I knew she likes to "take her time" doing things but I never knew that she's actually a turtle disguised as a human being! She kills me with her slowness. Everything she does is like in slow motion! Really really S...L....O....W

AAAAAGHHHHH!!!!

We walk down the street, something pops on my mind I turn around to tell her and she's not there! "She was right next to me a moment ago, where did she disappear to?" I say to myself, turn around looking for her only to find her miles behind me walking on eggs <-- tamshi 3ala bai'6

WALK FASTER!!! Her reply would be "why? we're not in a hurry" Ok we're not in a hurry but if we walk slower we'd go backwards!

It took her 30 minutes to choose a sandwich while I was standing in the rain waiting for her! 30 damn minutes for a freaking sandwich!

Oooh and don't get me started on that day when the Tv guy came over to install the satellite... AAAHHHHHH I was this close --> . to having a stroke! My blood was boiling!! My pressure must've hit 4099847538! It took her AGES just to press 4 freaking buttons! I almost cried! I swear I was sooo close to crying!

Just looking at her.. moving so so unbelievably slow.. drives me insane! She's killing me slowly with her slowness. Sometimes I just want to get up and slap her.. or strangle her... or toss her out of the window... or.... you got the point?

*takes a deeeep breath to calm herself*

She's so slow that an old lady mocked her at the cafe the other day ;p

And by the way, she's not technology friendly. The dishwasher teshhad! ;p

Ambrosial my dear, I love you and all but please try to be faster ;p

P.S: If she ever says anything about me finishing the hot water or being stubborn don't believe her *angel face*

Where Have We Been?!

As we said in our previous post, that we are embarking on a new life... Vainglorious and I decided a year ago to go for our Masters abroad. It wasn't easy convincing our parents, nor that we had things at ease, or simply falling in place. It was hectic, tiring, and I've lost tons of brain cells during the process ;p

Allora, its been two weeks since we moved in together. OH YES! We're flat-mates! LOL .. Settling in was all over the place...going on. We're driving each other crazy! You think you know someone very well for a long time, but NO! ;p Vainglorious complains about my "slowness" I'm not slow, its just with her around, going "yallah yallah" tends to make me slow! (LOL OK I just laughed really hard at a cafe, remembering my "slowness" ;p)

Anyroad, as I was saying.. we might kill each other tonight ;p JK (or not ;p) the girl has a Swiss army knife, and Swiss card knife that she slips out from her wallet lol ;p its cool though, I have kitchen utensils ;p

What we did, and happened so far? Vainglorious cooked! Yes we're switching roles ;p she made "Immawash" that was nice, but a bit mushy.. ;p

and then her Highness drowned it with Liban! My God ga3deen ibar ;p

We put our furniture together! YES, handy-women thank you very much! ;p

Our school schedule is tough to handle, it’s freakin condensed, I still don’t remember what classes we’re taking! ;p (I should’ve never broadcasted that message after graduating college, “where I’m not gonna have classes and presentations anymore! #Malat! Lol ;p)

Oh where is “Noon”?! I just wanna say that I had “Lamb Tongues!”

Vainglorious dared me! I don’t walk away from dares! ;p (It was creepy , you should’ve seen my face, while eating them! Lol)

Everything so far has been an experience. God I miss the maids so much! ;p

We have so many spiders outside our flat forming webs! I don’t know if they’re preparing for Halloween or something but it’s freaky! ;p The next post Inshallah I’ll show you the situation we encountered with a spider ;p

I just hope this explains why we've been away for so long.. (This is just a drop of how busy we were, don't wanna bore you with the hassle we faced ;p)

Ludovico Einaudi is an Italian composer and pianist, who really hits the spot for me! I’ve been listening to his music for more than a year now… It’s so beautiful, so genuine, so sincere, and so overwhelming! I’m in love with his work.

Divenire is Italian for “To Become” I’ve listened to it so many times… It’s my life! It reflects my life! There is no melody that I can “actually” relate to or find it being the theme of my life… other than DIVENIRE!

Let me walk you through it…. Listen how it first starts… so delicate like a beautiful cloudy day… a little breeze gently blows against your cheeks, and then at

*(1:16-1:46) it evolves into something marvelous, and glorifying!

*Then at (1:47-:158) it its soothing, warming again, like a parents smile, and a friends hug...

*Then at...(2:11-2:48) comes the passion, the drive, the strive to get to where you want to be! The running, the mixed emotions…

*And then at...(2:59-5:10) it passes through the dreamlike phase, the gazing, the wondering, the “what ifs”, the breakdowns, the tears, the “am I good enough?” the thought.. the thought if “everything is gonna be ok?” The despair! The “I’m not worthy”, its surreal..….

*Then at (5:11-6:09) a ray of hope shines!

*Then at (6:10- 7:14) is the "go ahead you can do it! "The achievements, the rising above all, your accomplishments, your hard work paying off, your struggles, your success, Its all about you!…..

*Then at (7:15-7:48) so subtle, aimless, gathering all the bits and pieces of your scattered self … Going against the current, facing all odds, pushing your bad luck, no matter how much it hurts, no matter what they say, no matter how far you are, there is no stopping! Eventually… You’ll become.

I look back at my life, I know I’m not “old” but still I mean you tend to evaluate events that occurred along the years. The significant, the insignificant, those faces you thought you’d never remember… and the faces you can never forget, and those faces you want to overlook…

I see my life in “Divenire.” as snap shots. I see the memories I have with my brothers, the summer vacations I had with my cousins, the gatherings with my aunts, the living room discussions with my parents, my teenage years with SNT, my goofing around in high school, my seriousness in university…. My friendship with Vainglorious, my aimless driving nights, my sighs, my insomnia, the lazy days, the gutted feeling, the wait, and the way Vainglorious swirls her coke with the straw, and spaces out… My worries, my care for others, my weakness, my stubbornness, my spontaneity….. And I swear…. That there is more

Ever since I turned into a lady… Cause before that I was just a girl who’s way into her sports ;p (Still am ;p)

Anyroad, when I try being myself, and think what I’m doing is just “normal” and cool.. no harm no foul… it turns out to be a yellow flag! ;p

You know how sometimes, you share your likes/dislikes with someone?! Well every time when I’m on my laptop, and a picture of Bader Bn 3bdelM7sn is loaded up, I quickly shift the laptop towards Mom!

Me: Ishda3wah! If he has his charm, I won’t have to ;p b3dain laish chthi, I can’t share anything?!

So what I learned is, in the future…. So he has nothing to worry about! ;p and I can’t “a’at7ala” 3la guys on TV for any of that matter ;p (We get it its inappropriate, save me your lecture ;p) But guys can drool 3la Mona Amersha when she goes: "Seedi i7bibi Ha Huwa!" Well… She does rock that one ;p

Alright, I’m a cool person! When I go out with my brothers, I give them heads up on pretty girls! LOL ;p 3aadii amshi wat7alah 3la khalg allaah! ;p and when my little brother tells me he wants to marry someone that looks like “Jennifer Love Hewitt” I’ll say Ok, at least she’s not blond ;p

Allora, my brothers ismilah 3laihum whenever they ask for something to do for them… it always takes place late at night or when I’m always “Mali Khlg” Which is 90% of the time! Lol ;p
